Probably my favourite of Sasha’s albums. The influence of Junkie XL and Charlie May is strong on this one. The 3x12” is the best I think because a) it’s not mixed and b) you get the longer version of Fundamental, but sadly you’re not getting Cloud Cuckoo or Requiem both of which are great in their own way, but if you own the LP, you’ll likely want a copy on CD to preserve the vinyl so you’ll have those tracks anyway. You just won’t be mixing them on decks.. Can’t believe this is already 17 years old. Sounds better than most stuff out there now.
As the man himself said at Refracted Live after a great version of Wavy Gravy was played live “Charlie May everyone. Legend”. Indeed.

I never understand why they didn't put the track Cloud Cuckoo on this 3x12"...

This album seems to have aged nicely and the production is top-notch. Many of the tracks cut to vinyl are different/extended in some way (when compared to the CD). Magnetic North has a slightly longer breakdown section for example, and the more breakbeat-orientated tracks have dj-friendly beat intros. It's a shame Requiem or Cloud Cookoo were not included on this vinyl release but the slightly different edits included here are a nice touch. Some of the tracks on the 'New Emissions Of Light And Sound' soundtrack are of a very similar flavour, and may well be leftovers from this album.

What can I say, this is progressive at it's best, so many layers, so beautifully spheric, but also dark n pumping though in a non-aggressive way. The more you listen to Airdrawndagger the more you realize how complex the tracks are and how much Sasha and the guys have worked on every little detail.
Get this, it's already a classic and get on LP, then you get it all unmixed, lovely!
