According to the box the artist is actually "Scientest", not "Scientist", quality control does seem to be a problem with this label.

I have a problem on the box set I own : there is a fade on the entire track number two (Keep a good Dub Rubbing). The sound is slowly fading as if the engineer did wrong when exporting. I don't recommend this pressing just because of that stupid lack of quality control.

This is truly a classic of dub, right here. The era is great, as the dub doesn't outdo the reggae, which makes it a true classic in its own right. Since it is such a classic record, I won't go on and on about the tunes, so I'll merely comment on the pressing. No major issues here, but I will leave potential buyers with these thoughts:

- the boxset is super cool, and comes with a sweet 3-wax set in the (cliche) red, yellow, and green wax. Super nice looking, and "spliffy".
- price point is top notch. If you pay more than $19-22, you're over-paying.
- the pressing sounds great. I have the OG press as well and the sound is every bit as good as the original. No fear on this basis.

That said, here are some things to think about:

- the 3x10" makes the listening really "short." For the most part, you get two tracks per side, which means you need to flip and/or replace the record every 7-10 minutes. Compared to the OG press, it feels like an awful lotta trips outta the chair, and if you're "indulging" in your listening, that's a tall order.
- the box is not very well made. You MUST take it out of the cellophane wrap in order to open it. At first glance it looks like something that can be opened by slicing open the top, but the box actually opens from the top, like a shoe box with a hinge, so don't try prying or pushing it with a mere seam-split of the cellophane. You will need to pull the box out of the wrapping in order to open it, then fold the top back. Similarly, the construction is just not that good, so if you don't get this far before trying to push and/or pry it open, the box might actually break. BE CAREFUL!!!

Beyond these couple little things, it's a solid release which includes a couple of tracks that were not a part of the OG press. While that is cool, I would say the 10" shortness is a real bummer. I appreciate the bonus tracks, but would have preferred a similar press as the OG, which was a single 12" piece of wax, and then either a 7" with the bonus tracks or a single-sided 10 or 12 inch record. Totally not a deal breaker, especially considering the price of the OG press, but just something to be aware of.

All in all, a dandy irie pressing of a classic, with just a couple little idiosyncratic pieces to be aware of. Considering the OG goes for $50-60, the price tag is certainly the carrot for this beautiful little set. Bless up!

My copy has B-side centre labels on both sides. I don't know if it's like that on all of them...
