I'm reviewing several of the recent Reggae & Dub LPs I've purchased recently. Many have gotten very cheap, and in light of originals rising cost, I figure some are worth trying. I have a reasonable amount of original JA and UK LPs in the genre, and have been listening to almost nothing but for several years. I think I have an idea of what close to the original sound, and can at least make an overall judgement in relation to how similar original/early issue LPs from the same studios and era sounded. Hope this helps somebody, I'll try to keep it simple.

System line; Well-tempered OG with Sumiko MC Cart/80s Adcom Control amp/Sony TA-NES77 Power Amp/Boston A-400 Loudspeakers. Properly staged triangle. Headphones are old Pioneer SE-505s, not great by contemporary standards, but can determine separation just fine.

Jacket is solid, but transfer isn't great. Not the worst I've seen, but they could have done much better.

Track-wise, absolutely perfect. Diverse sounds, dubs to some killer vocal tracks.

Sound quality is good, flat, clean, quiet disc. There is certainly some compression, light muddiness, but overall enjoyable, good separation of channel, instrumentation could be cleaner, but well worth it for the price I'd say. 7.5/10
