David Gamson comes into his own on this record, his programming and production years ahead of most producers at the stuff.

January 29, 2003

'Cupid' never fulfilled bizarre lines from the masterpiece 'Songs To Remember', but thanks to the songs 'Absolute', 'The Word Girl' and 'Wood Beez (Pray Like Aretha Franklin)' it still calls for the groups subversive shots the way we know them. It's less communist, more conformist in certain areas, unfortunately the rest squeezes itself through tiny doorways as it was written as a soundtrack for those sleezy American teenage prom-movies of the mid-80s. A nice looking girl (dressed in pink) dating a rugby jerk, some nerd falls in love but hasn't got a chance to come close to her, inbetween there's a whole mish-mash nerd-jerk fight and finally the nerd wins ans kisses the girl... wow.
