A Grower, give it time!
A huge leap from the previous release which may initially confuse, the Shoe Gaze/ Cocteau Twins influences of early material are abandoned for a headlong dive into cutting edge electronics.
The first track is a nice reassuring way to start the album, beautiful ringing guitar feedback worthy of Hair & Skin Trading Company, Final, E.A.R or even John Mclaughlins 1976 track "miles out", mutating into exotic electro tinged chords.

After that the real business of the album begins, Dub is firmly to the fore here.

Although its probably a coincidence, some of the electronic sounds and percussion reminded me strongly of the dark atmospheres of late 80's Ministry before heavy metal influences ruined that band.
In particular, it bought to mind the 1988 album track Hizzbollah, the 1985 B-side Isle of Man and 1986's Adrian Sherwood produced Twitch album but with a higher dub quotient.

don't base your opinion of this album on a few spins, to get the best out of it let it seep into your soul over a period of time.
this was the future in 1996 and still sounds like it in 2019.

I love this album.... apparently simple, repetitive, cyclical, very meditative and mysterious. Seefeel's sound is something else. "Extract" must be my favourite song by them, even on top of Climatic Phase 3 or Filter Dub.

The only record I ever gave away it, it irritated me that much. Not sure why now, will have to get another copy to remind myself & see if has improved with age.

A haunting beauty. The music suggests an architecture, not a landscape. And although these rooms are quite spacious and scarcely a trace of furniture in them, you are lured into them, but cannot avoid a sense of claustrophobia. The fairy-tale frailty of the Cocteau Twins at their strongest, translated into a world of .. er .. dubby post-rock. "CH-VOX", their next record, went one step further, omitting even more sonic information: In my opinion it sounds flat and does not succeed.
Succour strikes the perfect balance, finely crafted and generously and intelligently edited.

Succour is a dark ambient masterpiece. Factory ambience i like to call it...But is it just my bad luck or has anyone else noticed that this disc suffers from from sort of disc rot? I have owned four copies of this cd and all of them suffer from the same static, surface noise, and skipping that is associated with disc rot...There is no visible "bronzing" and no scratches on my discs...My original copy of the cd did not have this problem when i first purchased it, and i am very careful with my cds, so it must have happend over a time..I am very suspicious that it has something to with the artwork that is printed on the face of the cd itself...WARP, if you are listening, this cd needs a repress/reissue and maybe as a reward you could tack on the non lp tracks from the Fracture Tied single..

This one is a GEM. Truly masterfully bold soundscapes and origional sample use. It takes some time to acknowledge its power but it is evident. It reminds me of orc-machines on a lunar landscape.
