After the poorly received rock album Love, Shelby (' 01) hit singer/songwriter Shelby Lynne in a personal dip, which is translated in the aptly named Identity Crises (' 03). This plate was a response to the heavily produced acoustic predecessor and let a slow artistic recovery. She is determined to continue on this course, as it turns out on Suit Yourself. The songs are recorded again with little fuss and Shelby's countrywortels betray themselves in the prominent use of acoustic guitar and pedal steel. But the sublime form that they exhibit spread on her best record I Am Shelby Lynne (1999) is not reached again. A strict but fair producer had moderate songs as You And We mercilessly by the tracklist removed and possibly ensured few up tempo numbers to some momentum at all. Striking is at most the prominent guitar contribution of Tony Joe White, whose 1969 get a lazy operation
