This deluxe limited edition seven vinyl LP collector's set includes re-pressings of three classic Sigur Rós albums: "Sigur Rós - Ágætis Byrjun", "Sigur Rós - ( )", and "Sigur Rós - Takk...".
Also included for the first time ever on vinyl is the rare Sigur Rós track "Smáskífa".
These seven pieces of vinyl come encased in a hard cover book-type sleeve containing seven full color vinyl sleeves and a copy of the Artist In Residence classic publication "In A Frozen Sea: A Year With Sigur Rós" (which was also available to buy separately).

Each copy is individually numbered and foil-stamped. Limited to 5000 units worldwide.

All potential Discogs buyers should be aware that this Sigur Rós box set was tightly shrink-wrapped at the factory. This resulted in the outer corners being squeezed tightly together. As a result, many [sealed] copies may contain warped LP's inside. Once again, this is due to to the extremely tight shrink-wrapping done at the time of the box sets manufacture, and not due to improper handling or storage on behalf of Discogs members.

Pressings are usually terrible, noisy and warped... but, the mastering is superb on these LP's and that's the main reason to own this box, there are no better sounding (audio quality) versions of these albums than this, it easily beats the originals and all other reissues to date. I would gladly pay a fortune for these exact same cuts/mastering on well pressed vinyl if they ever decided to do it properly.

Smaskifa has 3 versions issued on vinyl in Untitled #1 (Vaka) 10" so this set does not give you anything new to pay for. IF you don't have all these records.. then you could consider this as a compilation .. but for a compilation this only carries 3 perhaps the best records of the band.. but that is not enough isn't ? NOT even close.. :) And there was a risk at the first place to get these records in warped condition in this .. SO I really don't see any real point of this.. I do have whole disco of this band on vinyl (those that are pressed on one) but this one I will pass.

Quick question? Why does it say "Smaskifa" on vinyl for the first time ever but back when the single came out there was a vinyl copy of it out with it included?

I have seen 2 copies in 2 different places where the foiled number is 0000. One was on Ebay being sold for a lot, and one was in a large record store (Amoeba) in Los Angeles just weeks apart and saw the record store one AFTER the ebay one... Shrink Wrap was NOT tight at all as so widely reported on most of these. I cant help but think that there are bootlegs of this out there being sold as number 0000? Dont know what else to make of that. Amoeba claimed some boots get by them.

Whoever is selling just the booklet is really spamming the listing for this collection. I feel like that should be listed under a separate page on Discogs.

Vinyl pressed by United. It's unlistenable in places. What a waste.

50 of the 5000 units sold randomly had the "In a Frozen Sea: A Year With Sigur Ros" book signed by all four band members.
