Paranoid Recordings first vinyl foray sees the long awaited return to vinyl of cult oldskool master and hardcore breaks regular, Simon Harris ( http://www.discogs.com/Simon-Harris-Logical-Beats/release/314179 ).

And what a return it is too! The 'Illogical Treats EP' is pure oldskool joy on plastic, with three stomping tunes chock full of bass, breaks, pianos and cheeky rave references. 'Ecstacy: For The Sheer Fun Of It' opens up the EP with a news report on MDMA. The track then moves into sweeping string sounds, energetic breakbeats and some nice vocal borrowings from '80's pop R&B acts The Jets (that harmony is just perfect for hardcore!).

My favourite track comes in next with 'Way Back (Nate & Kate Mix)' which features some heavy breaks and some sublime pianos (re-arranged from The Prodigy's 'Your Love') which forms the track's core. It's a severely infectious tune and one guaranteed to get a smile on your face. Love the 'We want some more. HARDCORE!!!' sample. The 'Way back' vocal reminds me of Nightmares On Wax's 'Back Into Time'???

The EP concludes with the excellent 'You Think You're Hardcore'. A bleep-tastic tune with a ruff breakbeat similar to that used by DJ Clarkee on 'Have A Good Time' accompanied by sweet female vocals and exclamations of the tracks title.

All this quality on one EP is too much to ignore. 'Nuff respects go out to the man like Simon Harris. Support this label Folks!
