My 2018 repress is definitely an upgrade over the original 1988 pressing. Much clearer top end. Hearing stuff on "Peek a Boo" I never heard before. But yes, it is less bassy with better stereo separation. It sounds a bit purer than the original to my ears though, which has a more saturated sound.

Just bought and played. What have they done? Put it through a muffler? I put my original 1988 pressing on afterwards to check and it has a nice clean sound. I'm so disappointed as this is my favourite after Juju. The other reissues I bought sound great. What happened here?

One more voice for this pressing being not as good as its predecessors. The mix on this pressing is not what I remember from the original pressing at all. This is a beautiful album full of dynamic range; it is stripped completely from this pressing.

I can confirm the previous comment. My copy sounds completely flat, almost like there's no bass & drums at all. All other 2018 reissues sound fine - except for The Rapture which is another major desaster unfortunately...

I don't know what this record originally sounded like, but it sounds very flat and lifeless in this reissue.
