The Sixpence None The Richer from Texas-based Group was formed in 1989 around the then 16 year old guitarist Matt Slocum and the then 13 year old singer Leigh Nash. They debuted in 1993 with the album The Fatherless And The Widow. This plate and his two successors were given rave reviews in America but in Europe remained unnoticed. For their fourth album left Matt Slocum himself said it inspired by writers like Dylan Thomas and Pablo Neruda. So is the Puedo Escribir song based on a poem by Neruda. Thanks to the catchy Kiss Me, a song in America, England and Australia all was good for a high listing, the band themselves with their semi-acoustic folk pop in the limelight to know places. The group now seems also to Netherlands. Eye-catcher of the group is singer Leigh Nash whose pleasant voice sound comparable to that of Jewel and Cardigans-singer Nina Persson. Highlights on this album are next to Kiss Me, among others, the folky Easy To Ignore, The Lines Of My Earth, the energetic Love and a lively rendition of the enigmatic There She Goes, a hit of The La's in 1990.
