Killer album. This pressing is very good like all other SP pressings of the 80s.

The follow-up to a masterpiece is usually a pain, and "Rabies" makes no exception. After "VIVIsectVI" (Skinny Puppy's immortal milestone), this LP is a bit disappointing, for two main reasons: first, it heavily suffers from Al Jourgensen's bad production, and second, it is the first record where the Puppies massively exploit sampled heavy metal guitar riffs, which not only I dislike, but don't even sound much appropriate when put above their suffering, creepy electronic music.
"Tin Omen" is the worst moment here, while most of Side B is made of movie samples and other sounds which get boring after a while. "Rabies", however, has some very great songs on it, not only the mighty chartbuster "Worlock" (which is amongst the three best Puppy songs of all times), but also "Rodent", "Hexonxonx" and "Two Time Grime" sound excellent. "Fascict Jock Itch" suffers from an excessive amount of the above mentioned sampled guitars, but beneath them it has a striking oldschool EBM structure, reminding me of the best Nitzer Ebb!
Surely this is the weakest ring in Skinny Puppy's 1980s' discography, but still worth picking it, were it not for the first three songs of Side A and "Worlock".

The worst in my opinion of all the SP records. Poor production and poor songs (Fascist Jock Itch anyone ?), though does include one saving grace in the beautiful Worlock.
