The "TV Action Jazz" craze of 1950's USA in fine form compliments of the always outstanding Skip Martin. The LP, "Songs And Sounds From The Era Of The Untouchables" as performed by Skip Martin And His Prohibitionists released on the legendary Somerset label offers a high oxtane dose of Big Band renditions of some tried and true classics as well as several original compositions of which the LP credits no composer. I would have to guess them to be Skip Martin originals. As well, an excellent version of the classic theme to the TV series "The Untouchables", composed by Nelson Riddle.

The series of recordings on Somerset are noted for their exceptional audio quality and are cherished by vinyl enthuthiasts the world over. This one in particular being a personal favorite of yours truly.
