The remix of Let's Celebrate is by Francois Kevorkian. I bought this 12" single back in early 1982 for the remix of 'Let's Celebrate' back when I was an 11th grader. I actually rode 30 miles on a bicycle (a 1-speed dirt bike) to buy this 12". It was not the remix I was looking for but I bought it anyway - after, riding 30 miles I was not about to leave empty-handed!!!!

It was not until 1995 that I found out that Kevorkian was the one responsible for this uncredited remix that sounded very close to the album version. It appears on "12 Gold Master Series: Volume One. In the linear notes it says that this mix was 'shelved' because it was more R&B than the 'secondary' mix by Shep Pettibone. This remix is labeled on the compilation as "Version Previously Unreleased" - probably referring to the USA. Shep's remix was the superior mix as he totally turned this innocent sounding song into a rugged dance-floor stormer that kicked butt and took names later!

The funny thing about both of these mixes was that they were both edited down to 6:41 and the mixer was not credited (some later 12" releases would say "Mixed by Shep Pettibone") and so when I got the Salsoul 12", I thought that it was the same as the Ram's Horn but I listened to it and found that it was the remix I was looking for.
