This was the first release I picked up from Smith & Mighty. I was listening to a lot of Massive Attack at the time and a friend of mine said I should check out Big World Small World. I was completely blown away. This is probably one of my top three all-time favorite trip-hop albums. It has smooth, sometimes light, sometimes dark sounds woven throughout, and the vocalists compliment the music perfectly. I later checked out older and newer albums from these guys, and I hate to say it, but none came even close to this release. I guess that is why when people talk about trip-hop it's usually Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead, etc., but rarely do you hear much about Smith & Mighty. Even though the group may not have been consistently great, Big World Small World by far makes up for it. This is a masterpiece.
