One of Louie Vega's most 'ravey' and 'underground' efforts, developping more radically some ideas present in Nuyorican Soul's "Nervous Track" released one year earlier, "Bass Tone" is a hybrid tune that still sounds current some 17 years later, always a good sign... So, broken glass as beats (an idea borrowed from "Where's Your Child" perhaps?), massive subbass, dreamy organ and irresistible futuristic broken latin grooves, something like an early Warp bleep tune produced in Puerto-Rico. Totally cool and (still) visionary.
