Have tried to run a CD surface scan on a used copy of this CD Sparklehorse - Distorted Ghost EP using PlexUtilities I get an error message saying "Cannot read 80mm Discs" or "Please insert a correctly formatted Disc". Plexutilities has no problem with normal CD's. (Albums & EP's).
OK the CD plays and can be recorded from using the usual CD reading & writing apps and shows up as a 'CD Audio' file... but, could this be a 80mm MiniDisc formated 'image' pressed onto a standard size CD blank? A quick look at the optical side of the disc also hints at this, the inner silver grey data ring is about 80mm!

If true this would raise a number of question not least the Lossless Compression used and would the Format on this listing become 'Minidisc' ?

Has anyone else identified this issue? Any tech savvy person out there able to confirm the possibility of this Minidisc / CD mash-up?

Thanks
