One of the best electronic albums ive ever heard. A symbiosis of jungle and pure jazz fusion bass - its just amazing, and its sounds absolutely natural.

Genius, no doubt.

Lovely bloke on eBay just sold me this gem on vinyl for a tenner. Squarepusher's best work and now that I finally own it on vinyl it's probably my favourite in my, albeit rather small collection (apart from Throbbing Pouch). Everything blends together so well on this album, the drum programming, the bass playing, the jazz elements, goddamn it's near impossible for me not to not start shaking my leg in time to the tracks on it. Love it.

TJ's Warp debut...and what a debut it is. Straight from the opening Spy music that is "Coopers World" to the closing pseudo-ambience of "Rebus", this is one for the archives.

"Beep Street" remains my favorite pusher track, even after almost 20 years(!)..."Papalon" weaves a story with no words; "E8 Boogie" definitely lives up to its name (if this track doesn't make you move...). "Male Pill 13" is beautifully melodic and skittery at the same time. "Rustic Raver", "Chin Hippie" and "Rat/P's and Q's" are suitably ravey insanity. "Vic Acid" needs no words, as it is brilliant in every way. All in all, very very few downsides to this one. 10/10

This guy is a musical prodigy and very talented in the sense that he plays lots of instruments and does all the effects and production himself. His talents are mind boggling and you have to take your hat off to him. For me this has always been my favourite of his - I wished he would slow things down and go back to this style again. This is a very melodic and playful album. And on a side note: when is he going to team up with Ceephax and give us the electronic Bros album we've all been waiting years for?! That would be quite an interesting listen I'm sure!!

Hard Normal Daddy wasn't a big deal to me at first. None of the albums I love are. But this turned into one of those albums I can listen to start to finish any time of day with any emotion and just feel incredible. What out there is really comparable to this release? Jenkinson covers a lot of ground, but I'd say the overall theme is playful energy. There's a lot of fast paced electronic music out there that just sounds mean, or aggressive, or just plain too silly. But these tracks here are refined and feel purposeful. The sample choices are nothing groundbreaking alone, but they blend perfectly. 5/5

I just can say when we where kids we only have had about 10 CDRs or so and we listened to this album from dusk till dawn and I still love it today. I think Tom is one of the uniques musicians around. I always would recognize his stuff. His production skills are kind of unhuman, especially the drum programming. Not to mention his bass playing skills...
My favorites on this LP are 'Rustic Raver', 'Chin Hippy', 'Papalon', 'E8 Boogie', 'Fat Controller' ahh forget it one cant decide on this brilliant album :_)

Always a joy to my ears, mind and feet - one couldnt sit still when listening to this!

A d&b classic.

The first two track are really GREAT! The rest is just nervous, shreddered beat stuff. I hear some people really like this, but not me. In any way I admire the drum programming. Technically, a good release, but too hectic for my taste.
