One of the hypes by 2001, the British Quartet Starsailor from Chorley (North West England). In their homeland-where every hypes-they have prior to the debut album had two hit singles, they shone on the front pages of all the music sheets and made a successful tour with Manic Street Preachers. Apart from the ever-over-the-top English Bandwagoning, is an exciting band Starsailor which certainly has talent. The four guys have an average age of 20 and singer/composer James Walsh sings with a disarming intensity about love, hope and all the drama of life. The band is influenced by the 1970s, especially by singer-songwriter Tim Buckley (the band name is a reference to one of his albums) and Of Morrisson. Those rootsy weft can be heard in for example Lullaby where James Walsh sounds like a cross between Neil Young and Brett Anderson of Suede. Maybe the band Suede whose whimsy closest to Starsailor, it being understood that Walsh still hartverscheurender sing than Anderson, and you all for falls, if at all.
