This is a fantastic ambient / Berlin styled album. It's close to being the pinnacle. It's a bridge between 70s ambient like Tangerine Dream and where the 80s would set the stage for 90s electronic revolution. Even Steve says it in the remaster notes. The bridge was also and example in recording equipment used to do this music. On the cusp on midi, CDs were just coming out and analog was moving to digital synthesizers. The more aggressive like Seeking and Conquest are very well done for that older ambient sound...then balanced the Memory is one of my favorite Steve Roach songs of all time. Merge and Urge are highly underrated as well. Only gripe is the shorter songs do not compliment the longer songs enough to take this to a landmark status in ambient. Close but no cigar. However, very excellent album. Grade B+
