I love this album, it seems to me that despite having two percussionists and the extraordinary Brazilian Jazz virtuoso guitarist that this album places Winwood exactly where he intended, leading am ensemble to set down rhythms and melodies that take you to a spiritual place that he has searched for since the days of Blind Faith. A pity it is unavailable on Vinyl so only really played in the car.

As the lead singer of the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic & rhythm blues groups and Blind Faith built Stevie Winwood (1948) in the 1960s, a name as perhaps the best soul singer of England. In addition, he was a gifted keyboard player a welcome guest on the albums of his rock colleagues. In 1970 he released his first solo album. As the highlights of his work are generally Arc Of A Diver (1981) and Back In The High Life (1986). His eighth album Junction Seven (1997) flopped miserably and it took six years to Winwood of using Tomcat. On the salient entitled About Time, with Winwood invariably behind the Hammond organ, the songs are mostly made up of long drawn out (funk) jams, which unfortunately is not always equally memorable melody lines. Be there to enjoy extremely inspired interplay of the band members and of course the Golden throat of Winwood, still not by the time it is affected.
