Stupor is our attempt to probe the possibilities of long-form, continous improvisation.
"We believe that there is much more to this approach than what could be write off as -drone-. The name of the band is to reflect the subjective quality of what, at first, could be seen as boring but with time gain more depth and prove to have more layers. "
In his pure data patches Fryderyk uses the most basic sound - cosine wave, sometimes changing it into sawtooth. He controls parameters such as pitch, volume, waveshape and panning. The last one is the most important and crucial for his input in Stupor. On the one hand it is automatic and precise but at the same time highly improvisational and etheric. What counts in the end is the immediate, physical impact of sounds on the listeners' ears and brains. In his solo works he deploys aleatoric and serialists procedures.
