The second double CD in a year (along with Dante's Disneyland Inferno).

"Kickin' the Dragon" was live recorded at the Off Ramp (now defunct) in Seattle. "Ghost Ghat Tresspass / Sussmeier" was recorded live at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, and features Eyvind Kang on violin. A portion of "Sussmeier" appears on Kang's Theater of Mineral NADEs CD (Tzadik, 1998). "Shin Paku" and "Maybe I'll Kiss and Die a Fool" were originally recorded during the sessions for Torch of the Mystic.

The songs "Apna Desh" and "Rookoo Bay" originally appeared in remixed form on the 78 RPM 10" issued by Perfect in 1994.

This release also features the recording debut of Sun City Girl's Javanese Gamelan, acquired in 1993 at a Seattle auction.

Could somebody please tell me what image is printed on the compact discs? I recently purchased this album and curiously it has the EXACT same image as is printed on the 2CD set of "Dante's Disneyland Inferno". Also disc 2 has what could either be a 3 or an M written in black marker on the front. The discs are definitely from the album "333,003" so thats no issue but i'm just curious if this a mis-print or if its standard or, at worse, a bootleg (oh dear). Thanks!

An album quite difficult to understand, but, when you entered that, you might have pleasure from this esoteric experience. In this double cd ethnic music is contaminated with jazz and rock elements, the sung seems to be from an arabic David Thomas, a little bit demented. Sounds are dissonant, noisy and there's no latitude that they can't know. The second, instrumental, cd contains longer pieces and the flavour is more serious for this tribal-ambient suites, where horns and percussions drive the music, finding influences from Balinese and Sundanese music. The top is the long fourth track, where you can hear the magistral Eyvand Kang's violin. One of their best works, but someone might have problems with the vocal parts.
