An outstanding album that really puts me in a tranquil mood despite, at times, being quite melancholy.
IMO Namlook is at his best when he works with other people.
Sunken Road has little in common with Pete's solo, often criticized, releases.
This is a real treasure.

Beautiful release and very seldom praised hence my commentary. The Sunken Road as a whole as a very spacious sound utilizing electronics and acoustic sources i.e. synthesizers, piano, ocarina etc. It is NOT an atypical cookie cutter Fax release for Pete Namlook for two reasons first off he has guest musicians accompanying him and second no drums/percussion or sequencer distractions. The music here is somber, reflective, warm and yes a tad melancholy which I think is perfect for early morning drives, walks thru forested landscapes. Theres a definitive focus of perhaps an inward journey thru the outer world as a catalyst. Definitely a top notch release that showcases Namlook's diversity as a composer and a audio sculptor. Take a step on to the sunken road its worth the journey!
