For the recording of their second cd have the four gentlemen of the Dutch taken more time than Supersub for Window Shopping (1997). Fly Pilot Fly sounds grander, more and more mature than its predecessor, thanks in part to the use of instruments such as horns, strings, organ and accordion. Although the band more in the direction of a private sound is gone continue the influences in the sometimes dreamlike, sometimes pretty solid sixties/seventies pop clearly audible. The voice of the Northern Irish singer Felix Maginn regularly has slightly away from that of Suede-frontman Brett Anderson. The Beatles, and especially John Lennon, are back to hear the songs Told You So, Lovely Lady and Where Is The Love Gone. The energetic sound of Oasis was a model for I Can't Remember.
