Red Planet meets French electronics. David Jacopin is unquestionably indebted to Mad Mike's deep space-themed EP series, but his take on this sound is still sufficiently distinctive to sound refreshing. The tracks are pretty busy and fast-paced, and they're laced with synth work which reveals that this is the work of a beret-wearing croissant eater and not a balaclava-wearing Michiganite. The mixing/mastering is fairly muddy and the rhythm section could have been more interesting, but this is still a highly enjoyable debut. "Anapurna", a very nice ambient-intro kind of track, isn't on the vinyl version and makes the CD worth having.
