Same as alphagrade here. My copy sounds beautiful. Very minor surface noise in quietest tracks like Runeii only audible in headphones. But i mostly listen thru speakers. Purchased in 2011. I have an original copy of Spirit and don't hear much difference in quality. maybe just slightly more dynamic range.

I have this dreaded Ba Da pressing which I purchased back in 2014 via Juno Records. I must have struck gold as I have a clean and delightful pressing with no audible surface noise.

I wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing mine. Was only $18, but it sounds thin, shitty, tons of surface noise. Giant drag, because it's such great music.

Just got an email from New On Vinyl saying there will be a reissue coming in January. You'd be better off paying to import it than buying this spotty pressing for $70+.

This pressing is an absolute embarrassment. It is truly awful, and should have never left the factory. BaDaBing also did the Mark Hollis reissue and it's equally as terrible. It's such a shame.

I guess I lucked out, my copy sounds pretty good. There's definitely some surface noise but it's more than tolerable.

There are at least two pressings of this reissue. The first one had terrible surface noise issues (not sure where that was pressed); they did a re-press at RTI and that one apparently sounds better, but many copies are still scuffed (with resulting surface noise) because of the inner sleeve. The RTI pressing has their marks -- "22153.1(3)..." and "22153.2(3)..." -- in the deadwax. This is cut by Kevin Gray ("KG@CA" in the deadwax) and despite supposedly being cut from a CD it really does sound fantastic, if you can get a clean copy.

I bought a copy of this and it had a sizable defect, it looked like a piece of paper, pressed in the the B-side. It also had surface noise and just didn't sound all that great. I contacted Ba Da Bing via twitter and they sent me a replacement copy free of charge! the new copy they sent me sounds miles better and has no defect.

My copy sounds good. I'm playing it on a brand new Pro-Ject Debut Carbon through headphones, and it's clean. There is some slight background noise in quiet parts, but so what, it's vinyl?!?! It's a respectable reissue that sounds better than my CD and I can afford it. I would buy this one if I were you.

Terrible surface noise and pops. I am so disappointed with this copy! Hiss, pops, crackle, fuzz - you name it, I heard it. Awful and unacceptable! I read several rave reviews about the dynamics on this one and couldn't wait to score a copy. Wish I bought the CD!
