This is one of those relatively unknown and undiscovered gems that you really ought to own if you were into the early sounds of breakbeat hardcore, followed up by the jazzy/soulful drum and bass of the mid 90s. The tracks are really well produced as you would expect. The main album takes place on disc one with the new direction of the time. It is Tek 9 exploring the type of sound that 4 Hero are so well known for today, soulful and jazzy but with more edge. This edginess is provided by the drums, which are heavy in parts, less organic / more electronic and vocals which are generally more subtle and laid back than later offerings of 4 Hero. The second 'bonus' cd is exactly that. Top quality breakbeat hardcore that existed at the classier end of the spectrum, through to early drum and bass. Some of the remixes are exclusive to this album, and are really excellent versions. If you like Tek 9, 4 Hero, Reinforced Records etc you are sure to enjoy this. I love it. Look out for the final track Mysteries of Music with its vocoder vocals. Funky as.
