True was one of the many NEWS sublabels and one of them who had the concept of licensing off hot records and giving them some off kilter renditions. The original of 'Fresh Start' was originally from San Francisco label OM and was a jazzy drum & bass track done with Dave Biegel aka Bugs. For the original release Joshua delivered solid house renditions and after it being licensed off to NRK, Derrick Carter worked his magic with a cracking workout.

However the real charm on this is Matthew Herbert's subdued remix. With his unusual sounding percussion grooves & a deep bassline, Herbert sets the base for an lowkey organic pad shower and synth flutter along and Terra's vocals worked on top in Herbert's manner. This is perfect for the smaller rooms in clubs and for your home stereo.
