first Terre's album.. what can I say? the record has kind of a dreamy feel. Raw Through A Straw is surely an essence of perpetually moving beauty for me and 2am On A Silo is just genius. the rest are nice too as tcordes said.. especially 040468 (the day Martin Luther King was killed)

Surprisingly good release from Terre. I'm not really a fan and I can't really say the other albums have done anything for me yet. But this one went on my player on repeat one night and it wasn't until 6 hours later I realized I'd been listening to the same thing over and over.

It's great (desk-)working music. The tones, chords and ramblings are very seductive. At first they seem a jumble, but there's a cohesiveness here that tugs your synapses farther outside your head on each pass. Normally music this messy would piss me off, but Tranquilizer doesn't. Aptly named album, I guess!

So what is this music like? Can't really say. Bit jazz, bit noise, bit experimental, heavy dose of IDM, ambientful spans with occasional prolonged beaty bits, wacky piano banging, AtomHeart-style bass sweeps. Actually, I can liken it to something: CuE's Octopus series on FAX; but Terre does it way better here. And maybe like some of The Orb's and Tetsu Inoue's ambient, but not quite as good.

Track 1 is by far the best. 2 is nice. 3 is great. Rest are nice. 6 we know from various comps.

The only album I can say I don't want to like but I do? And what's up with that abrupt album end?

Very eclectic and a cool meditation cd. Good ideas and well laid out. The music is raw but gentle. Unnerving at points then calmly relaxing. One of Terre's best before his music became too weird by the later 90's. Hovering Glows still one of my favorite downtempo songs from yesteryear. And of course Raw through a Straw is terrific in is own right. Songs blend weird strange and meloncholly showing the strange genius talent Terre has. An excellent cd and really surprised you can get copies for 10-15 bucks. Purchase one if you see it. Recommended
