About the reprint series from RHINO RECORDS and SCORPIO DISTRIBUTION and here the TERRY CALLIER - i just can't help myself LP Reissue:

Here is another example of the massive reprints which are around worldwide since spring 2010.
I'm talking about the reissues, which most of them are obviously not an official reissue.
Scorpio Music Inc., has started to reprint a massive Soul Funk Jazz Latin and Rock stock from hundreds of rare albums, manufactured by Rhino Records. It was an elaborate project which should bring hundred thousands of dollars to the reprinters.

This is one of my first warnings regarding to this unprofessional project and a warning to all Discogs collectors!!! First of all, i'm almost sure that there are no one hundred percent correct license given away to Scorpio.

Scorpio and Rhino manufactured also 180 gramm reprints were i believe that they has received official license to do it because of the extra sticker, the outsourced gramm situation and the selection of the album series itself. (Nina Simone - it is finished, John Coltrane - a love supreme, etc...)

But all others for example James Brown or Terry Callier (there is no license to reprint James Brown albums anyway) are simply bootlegs. Some of them looks so obviously that you can see a bad copy of the cover print. They might announced all of them as reprint, sealed (yes they are sealed) etc... but be warned !!! most of them are simply boots and crap !!! crap because i had bought about 100 reprints and my bad surprise was:

I don't know about the manufacturing but what i know is that it is obviously clear that this massive stock print from Rhino Records are manufactured in different qualities.
Bad "reprinted" labels are: CADET; CAT! (HORRIBLE); FLYING DUTCHMAN; CHI SOUND; all POLYDOR; etc...
Relatively good "reprinted" labels: WARNER; PRESTIGE; GLADES; PERCEPTION; CURTOM; ATCO; BLUE NOTE;...
It looks like that the bad ones are the bootlegs. Also because of the label license availibility.

REASONS TO BE DISMAL:
Lots of them are wavy, konvex konkav or the label hole is to small.
The main reason why i am totally pissed and why i will warn all Discogger here is: the mastering of the "matrix" was very unprofessional. most of them are full of crackles while the vinyl looks mint at all. The "S" in the vocals sounds so much fizzling that the record is unable to play. the sound is lumpish and you can not play the record loud in a club, not to mention for all digitalisers out there; they reprint records from Rhino Record production and Scorpio distribution are waste.

If you had the same experience and if you are with me please spread this out in forum, blogs, etc. ... and last but not least please simply copy this to all reissues from SCORPIO MUSIC INC.

THIS IS A INITIATIVE TO STOP SCORPIO RECORD DISTRIBUTION INC., and the crap manufacturing of RHINO RECORDS !!!!
thank you for your attention.
