I love how LaValle’s signature sound comes through so clearly in all these compositions. There’s a lovely common thread that binds them together as one whole song. Eased into an epic rendition of startling familiarity but never straying from its bright origins.
LaValle has done this time and time again, but even if it is the same story told in a slightly shifted manner, at least it is a beautiful story we could never forget.
I’m sure if numerous tracks were tied together from past, present, and future albums by The Album Leaf, there would most easily be songs that sound alike, but I guarantee they are not the same. Fortunately, LaValle’s creativity allows him to push each letter more with every album he designs, trying something on his own or giving his personal style that fine polish, it seems to never fail him credit for doing well.
So why take the chance that every song might not be a winner? Why even bother listening?
Because it’s the natural thing to do -- stay curious, stay hopeful, but above all, stay alive! And enjoy this man’s gorgeous song in the process.

This is one of the most enjoyable listens from start to finish. It's a very chill album, but it has moments of pretty sick beats, and at the same time, soaring orchestration. Into the Blue Again is also a nice weave of organic instrumentation and programming. If you like cinematic music and electronic music, this is a good middle ground.
