The only problem I see with mine is ONE BAD EGG - Volume. The low volume on this is a spawn of Satan. Other than that, sounds okay, I can't hear any major pops. (I may be deaf, who knows) All I found was one skip on "I Want You (She's So Heavy)"

Bought a copy of this in 2018 and haven’t experienced any of the surface noise issues, though I will say I agree with it being a quite record comparably. I’m sure there are better presses, but when I crank this I’m happy with the sound.

EDIT: After getting a copy of a 1986 repress, this 2012 version sounds a bit muddy in comparison (definitely less punchy and powerful). It's a quality pressing, but rather not a great remaster IMO.

My copy says Made In Germany on the shrink wrap. Is this the same?

The album remaster does not sound right. Way too muffled. The records volume is low, but that is the least of my worries. It was sealed, yet on side 2, it had pops on it since the beginning.

my copy {so far } sounds very good BUT ... i have had to crank the volume control to a level that would usually shake the walls and have the piggies knocking at the door .
when will people understand that LOW VOLUME MIXING IS A CRIME AGAINST VINYL COLLECTORS AND IS THE DUMBEST MISTAKE THAT CAN BE MADE WHEN MAKING A VINYL RECORD ???
it might sound o.k now but this pressing will not age well because this basic screwup will result in major surface noise once you collect a few paper scuffs or light hairlines .
all of that aside , i find this to be the weakest beatles album in my collection aside from yellow submarine which only has one side of the album being the beatles and the other side is a george martin w@#kfest.
for me the white album , revolver and sgt peppers is miles above and beyond this rather dull album.
just my 2 cents.
for these reasons i score this 0/5 .

I got the Apple Records pressing and it is offensively bad. Dark to the point of muddiness and the soundstage feels like a small cardboard box as a result. Side 2 is printed enough off-center that there's a constant pitch variation throughout... easily noticeable. I find no fault with the vendor's description or quick delivery, but damn... I'll know never to buy an Apple Records pressing again. Edit: Oh, and as others have noted, it is compressed all to hell. Sucks the life right out of it, as if the horrible EQ didn't already do that. The streaming version on Tidal, by contrast, is a breath of fresh air.

My copy has some vicious pops on 'Here Comes The Sun'. Big disappointment for what looks like a clean pressing. And I agree with others it sounds rather compressed, very dull on some tracks.

my copy only had a couple pops/clicks on side 2 and that might be resolved by cleaning (didnt run this through the RCM as i usually do for new records)
i would agree with those saying it sounds compressed, its not bad but when you listen back to back against one of the newer mono releases you can hear a difference in the mix.

Maybe the earlier pressings of this repressed record were not very good, or some people just had received bad copies. I bought a copy of this from New Bury comics in November 2016 and have played it a few times since, both A and B sound great and play through without any pops, cracks or surface noise. Maybe it's the fact I paid $13.88 sealed for it. Who knows? It replaced my 1st press I inherited from my father and it remains the replacement until I ware this copy out.

I have this exact copy. No doubt about it, 180 gram and everything. Just got through with Side 1 and did not experience any surface noise whatsoever. In fact, this is pretty quiet. I guess I got lucky just like another poster. I purchased this in Bethesda, MD at Barnes & Noble booksellers if anyone is interested where my clean copy came from.
