Surprising that there hasn't been much pushback over the price of the vinyl edition of this. £15 (or less) for the CD with Esher Demos vs. £89 for the vinyl? That's crazy. Ok, it's 4 records, but that doesn't account for the vast disparity. Last year for Sgt. Pepper I got the double vinyl for around £25 (shopping around), and the CD was, again, about £15. Even as an diehard fan, I find this pricing is eye-watering, and a complete gouge. I am sitting tight for the inevitable Black Friday deal, where it'll no doubt be closer to £60, which is what it should have been in the first place.

Does anyone know if this was cut to lacquer using a pure analog chain? Analog source is awesome but curious if Abbey Road has analog preview signal capability or do they convert to digital for the delay before cutting lacquer.

There is nothing more that can be said about the musical masterpieces which make up “The Beatles/The White Album”. The album has already spoken for itself for 5 decades now! Wow! Still a classic!

This is a truly phenomenal remix while still keeping with the spirit of the original mix intact, but taking the production a step further. No doubt in part to Miles Showell’s half speed mastering being nothing short of brilliant on this record and many more also. I was truly gobsmacked the first time I listened to the album as a whole. The depth and tightness of the bass is shockingly good. The midrange cuts through so that parts of songs that may not have stuck out to one originally make their “debut”. The guitar fills and bass parts on “Yer Blues” an example to myself at least. There’s a new purr to the high mids and high end that come through on this mix. “Helter Skelter” actually has a new clarity to it on this record, at least to me all these years later.

The “Esher Demos” are truly a treat to sit back, listen to, and think “huh, so that’s how that one progressed” in certain parts and on certain songs. It’s also a treat to hear what made it to certain solo albums, “Junk” being the first one to come to mind, which of course appeared on Paul’s first solo record.

The vinyl is stunningly silent and has a clarity that is immediately noticeable. Giles is to be highly commended on his ability to have made this even more of a masterpiece, if I dare say.
I cannot strongly enough recommend this 4xLP set to any Beatles fan.

Reviewing The Beatles "White Album" is a daunting task, on many levels. Thus, I will refrain from sharing my views on the music, and focus on this Remaster / Half Speed / Anniversary release.

The production, mastering and sonic clarity is astounding. I have never thought this album was a very Hi-Fi experience, and that was a part of the experience... or so I thought. Giles's production brings every instrument, vocal and sound into mesmerizing clarity and spot on definition. I am beyond impressed. It does not sound like a different mix, it simply sounds clearer, richer and all the more real. Each one of the vinyl in my box set is dead quiet. Only a rare tick here and there, but over all sublime pressing.

I purchased my box set from Amazon in the US, and it came perfect. No damage, no warps, just a lovely product that brings the sonic magic.

Highly recommended for fans of The Beatles.

Anyone else seeing scratches/deep scuffs from a defect in manufacturing on these? Everything sounds great as far as the pressing is concerned, but I was dismayed to find 2 deep scrapes on side 4 of the Escher Demos. I’m waiting on my return copy to arrive in a couple days.

Are all pressings for this from Europe? I got my 4LP from Amazon US and wondering if this is the same.

Always skeptical about remixes and remasters, especially of albums that have been given the treatment numerous times...but this sounds incredible, not unlike the Sgt Peppers from last year. A really fun experience, like listening to the album for the first time again.

Outstanding remix and pressing. Very pleased. Very low noise.
Nice to have the gatefolds in the box vs. records only.
Again, these sound great, so the meat of the matter accomplished!

The Esher demos completely demonstrate their collective genius and musicianship. Incredibly another welcome addition to their body of work.
