I remember the first time I played this and it completely blew me away. There was power and tune and attitude and a real meaty loudness which just made me want to turn everything up. This was a punk band who really seemed to understand melody and could actually carry a quite complex tune. Marry this to the amusing earthy lyrics and the recipe was there for a fine first album, which more than lived up to the promise of the first single (Megalomania). Pepperred with memorable tunes (Well Sick, Sewer Brain, Waste Of Flesh And Bone, Gestapo Khazi, Sucker) and free of any really weak tracks this album still sounds fresh today, mainly because, unlike so many contemporaries, they were able to capture the full effect of their power-chord sound on record. All in all a mighty fine effort and one of my personal favourites.
