The Chemical Brothers ‎– Come With Us

"Come With Us" is one of my top favorite albums from The Chemical Brothers. "Star Guitar" is one of the best songs from them. I also love "Come With Us", "Hoops", "Denmark" and "The Test". A+

Picked up #943 yesterday at Streetlight Records in San Jose - couldn't believe it was still there!

Pretty good pressing, no real complaints except that the labels were off-centre. Freaked me out at first, but luckily the actual pressing is well-centred.

It must not have been easy for the Brothers to find a new range of sounds after the big beat demise back in the early 2000's.
Most of acts which used this style (often symbolized with a sole studio album) simply disappeared (Cirrus, Propellerheads, The Wiseguys, Monkey Mafia, Lunatic Calm, Dirty Beatniks, Hardknox to name a few) whereas the most well-known like The Crystal Method, Freestylers, Fatboy Slim and Junkie XL have continued to gain success by using sounds that I personally don't like at all.
The Prodigy is the remarkable exception. As of 2018, they've kept their love for the beats.

Now, concerning "Come With Us", it's more than acceptable. "The Test" has a great tempo, "Star Guitar" always takes you in a trip which is helped, to be frank, by its famous video clip. Then, "Galaxy Bounce" is the most entertaining track out there whereas the title song, even if it may sound confusing at first, is really trippy as well.

Mission succeed for The Chems here. One of my favorite from 2002 along with "Burnin' Sneakers" from Bomfunk MC's and "Community Service" from The Crystal Method.

Fantastic pressing. Sounds is clean and dynamic with no surface noise. I've purchased all the 2017 pressings in black and four of the limited edition color and they all sound great. Hope to complete the collection!

Bit dull in parts, starts off alright with "Come With Us", "It Began in Afrika" and "Denmark" are my highlights. It's all OK, but just OK, nothing to get excited about.

Not obviously their best, but it has aged well. Nothing beats their Hanna soundtrack though.

tracks 1, 2, and 10 are good but the rest are just filler tracks that you could only enjoy if you were on that's right, chemicals.

I really like this album. It is maybe not the best chemical brothers album of all time, but it has their best underground dancefloor track (it began in afrika) and star guitar which is one of the best chemical brothers song in this decade. And besides these we have a bunch of enjoyable tunes as well (galaxy bounce, denmark, the test - to name a few).

A very psychadelic release you could fall in love with forever.
