I awaited this album for a long time and frankly it didn't disappoint, it rather impressed me in most areas. I firstly did not expect a case holding all the images and records. It feels like a real package with all the extras. Beautiful images accompany the tracks as explained on the front one. The only real negative about the design being that there is no plastic lining for the record sleeves and no lyrics sheet. They could easily have been written on the back of the images. An unfortunate oversight. But I have to say I love the way they numbered the sides with letters half visible in the corner of each label, highlighting the current one in blue. Tricky to see at first but stylish non the less. To get into the music itself we start off with the mastering which I agree with many is really "mastered". The singing is sharp and clear like the strings and the bass is meaty just like it should be. One of the better I have heard and it genuinely made previously inaudible sounds hearable. But where I disagree is in the pressing department. On some tracks its mostly drowned out but on the more quiet ones you can still notice the rather low surface noise, but more alarming are the pops and crackles. On random they can burst out of your speaker, sometimes with more consistency. So Im afraid its just too many negatives to give it a perfect score. Dont fret that its a dealbreaker however. It just did not meet expectations, so set them at standard, at least pressing wise. Overall its a sturdy package with few shortcomings and for me an absolutely great one for showing what vinyl is really all about and what it can produce.

There it was. Sat in Fopp for £23. Had to scrutinise it from top to bottom to make sure I hadn't bought the repress (which I'd assumed I had) when I was logging it to my collection. Blind luck it's stayed there for so long...that, and everyone else's poor taste. Brilliant album...

Found a sealed copy of this and promptly got it today.
Holy balls what a pressing, what a package. Lovely box type container sleeve. Photograph inserts are mint with two splendid 180g pressed records.
My kids are going hungry tonight Worth every penny.
Thanks ninja tune xxx

Simply the best album I have ever owned.
