Possibly The Corries finest LP, a beautiful set of renditions of as the title suggests, Scottish Love Songs. Each song is performed with the skill and sensitivity one expects from Williamson & Brown and fans of the Incredible String Band unfamiliar with The Corries might like to know that Roy is Robin's elder brother. The musicianship is versatile and includes many varied instruments, creating an unusually full and rich sound for a duo. The vocal harmonies are imaginative, moving and very catchy.
It perfectly evokes the romance and beauty of the Scottish landscape, and I suggest listening to it with a fine malt, open fire and bonnie lassie (or laddie).
