Is the most characteristic to The Cranberries Dolores O'Riordan, who with her powerful voice, skipping the singles Ode To My Family, Lamar and Zombie halfway through the 1990s charts inzong. Wake Up And Smell The Coffee is the sixth album by this Irish Quartet, which elaborates on the lighter side of what sound of the penultimate Bury The Hatchet. The album contains rock (Wake Up) interspersed with small intimate songs (Pretty Eyes), alternative songs with a Celtic edge (Do You Know) and songs which the band harks back to the sound of the first album as the beautiful Dying Inside. It is a nice album, which unfortunately does not goes beyond previous releases; the album contains not enough strong songs. As a bonus are a live version of Salvation and a fun cover of In The Ghetto (!) added.
