This may be the DC5's best song. "Glad All Over" was a solid pop hit, but there's something quite primal about 'Bits and Pieces' which is basically Dave Clark's big beat and Mike Smith yelling like a drunken sot. Similar to the primitive effect of the Strangeloves' 'Night Time', or 'I Want Candy'. It's a strange recording that stood out at its time and still sounds interesting today.
