The Distillers came into the punk scene in 1998 with their self titled debut with a dull roar, but when they released their follow up album “Sing Sing Death House”, home and car stereos alike burst into flames from Brody (at the time) Armstrong’s cheese grater Wendy O Williams-like vocals and the most solid line up of punk musicians in 2002. Not yet afflicted by the alternative rock influence of her Queens of the Stoneage paramour, Brody’s song writing had reached its apex. There really is something for any rock and roller on this album (unless, heaven forbid, you dig prog rock). The hardcore onslaught appropriately entitled “ Sick of it All”, the Blues crooning of “Lordy Lordy”, and the instant classic “I am a Revenant”. HUGE recommendation! Buy it! A strong 5 star album!

Great follow-up to their first record. Brody has a interesting female perspective in her songs and understands raw punk rock / rebellion really well. "The Young Crazed Peeling" video from this record is so good! Perfect record for someone in junior high or high school school that's into punk.
