I think that this sounds great. I picked it up from Amazon for under $15 and it is well worth it. Supposedly the packaging is a replica of the original. BG did a great job here and I'm sure that the AP release sounds better, but it is so expensive! The album is one of my favorites of all time.

Very happy with this copy. Album needed a cleaning from paper flakes but looked perfect after. Very nice press. No surface noise and sounds great to me.

I just bought this one, having read the good reviews here, and I must say I'm very disappointed. I thought it would beat the sound of my Mexican 1981 reissue (The Doors - L.A. Woman for which I also wrote a review), but it didn't. This one has richer bass than the Mexican one, but for sure lacks brilliance. It only sounds acceptable if you crank up the treble. On top of that it does have surface noise, very noticeable on slow passages and at song transitions. I'll return it to the store.

Have had this since it was reissued by Rhino. Just absolutely wonderful 8 years later. Dead quiet vinyl and detail galore. "Cars Hiss by My Window" is just perfect. The Doors S/T on Rhino is also well worth the investment.

Absolutely superb pressing, silent as a whisper and really well mastered.

Great album and remastering, but pressing contains too much background noise! If you are particular, you may want to forgo this issue and go straight for the 45 RPM Analogue Productions issue. This is the second Doors Rhino issue containing too much background noise.
