Hoagy Lands (Victor Hoagland) was a member of The Drifters on this recording.
Hoagy passed away in January 2002. He had 6 months previous co-headlined the 60's R&S club's Cleethorpes Northern Soul Weekender with Sidney Barnes and was a frail person then.
His grandson is the R&B artist Jahiem who learned to sing via his grandfather. It was said at the funeral Jahiem sang Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" and people thought it was Hoagy singing. As a coincidence Hoagy and Sid Barnes had performed this song at Cleethorpes and the 100 Club, London (Oxford Street) at my request.
