This Japan pressing was recently counterfeited in the UK, so there's quite a lot of copies of this floating around. I wouldn't touch brand new (especially sealed) copies of the Japan pressing (unless your ordering directly from a Japan seller), as they are likely to be bootlegs. The bootleg although obvious to experienced collectors of Japanese issued Cd's can fool the unaware.

100% Counterfeit. Watch out for SEALED/NEW copies showing misprinted OBIs. Also the disc inner ring itself is a dead give-away. This is not the original 1990 high quality authentic Warner-Pioneer (Japan) pressing.

Nothing Compares 2 U - the original and very best Version of this song written by Prince is on this record B2, making this Album even more valuable.

I'm currently working on a project, reconstructing lossless versions of the compilations that came out in Australia during the 70s 80s and early 90s.

I'm currenly working on one of the comps that came out in late 1985, where I need the Family's "Screams of passion". No problem. Pulled out my copy of this album and to my horror, the entire CD is an mp3 transcode from 96k mp3s. Thought the sound of the disc sounded like dogs droppings, hense why I never played it much. Cat number on both the CD and case are 7599 25322-2, but have come to realise the two (very small but subtle give aways are:

a:) in the 1980s and 1990s, all warner CDs had the artist name written in CQ full stretch font, my copy has Arial Black and...

b:) where the bottom of the actual disc denotes made in W. Germany, my copy just notes Made in Germany.

note: if the Paisley Park logo is missing on the disc, you deal with the unofficial replica: The Family (2) - The Family ...

COLLECTORS: Beware of counterfeits. This album was originally available in very limited qualities on compact disc and notoriously hard to find (on cd) until recently. In addition to advice given below. All genuine Germany /Europe pressings come enclosed in the thick old school jewel case with the pink promotion hype sticker 'Nothing compares 2 U'. As shown in the images for this release. Without this sticker I wouldn't bother as it's less collectible and theres a good chance it's counterfeit. If unsure your better off searching for the Japan edition with the OBI. Know your music! - passion4realmusic

Warning!!!!! There are counterfeits of this album now floating about. CD artwork is not the same, sleeve art is duplicated and the audio has digital clipping at the end of each track.

this paisley park release was a intertwine of raw funk and soul. the family did the first and best cover of the Prince written "nothing compares 2 u" along with instrumental tracks that you had to crank the stereo on.
