This album would be one of the first tie-ins to the popular animated show "The Flintstones," which initially aired on prime time network television between 1960 and 1966. There were also at least two Golden Records singles extrapolated from this project. Unlike the Colpix LP of The Flintstones, which used actual television audio from the show, this is a special project of its own, utilizing the original cast voices of Alan Reed, Jean Vander Pyl, Mel Blanc and Bea Benaderet, with music by Hoyt Curtin. It also features some songs heard in the show, though the bridging dialog is unique to the album. It's a highly enjoyable record if you like "The Flintstones" and treasurable in its own right as, apart from Mel Blanc, these artists were not terribly prolific recording artists despite their extensive experience in radio acting.
