The tape which you now possess (compiled from leftovers of "Summer Magic” hidden depth #3)
is an artifact of a bygone time.
When friends get together to make music anything can happen.
Sometimes it is a gift, sometimes it’s surreal.
In 2007 Will Freed (Guitar) and Jeff Williams (Drums, Guitar, Vocals) formed The Freed,
later joined by Mlee Marie (Organ, Saxophone) and Jason Chronis (Organ).
They wrote no tunes. They just let it happen. It sounded good.
Fans of Dead C and The Clean, Will and Jeff brought the noise and guitar layers in,
and Jason dosed the pool with his private press head set.
The result is gravy, baby. Organ washes play daintily under the tectonic plates of guitar shred.
There’s a feeling of new scenery.
Side 2 is more ethereal and less playful.
Through this second side it’s possible to see into a world in which the question:
“What is Music” is no longer rhetorical…It just "is”.
Over as quickly as it started, the band disappeared into a steamy summer night.
Pop the tape in around sunset, watch it make some magic, and enjoy the hiss.

In tunes,
Jack D. Fleischer
