Excellent repress. Sounds fantastic - no ticks or pops in my copy. Great artwork sleeve and sounds original and not remastered - love it. One thing though: has anyone noticed that side A is A-symmetric ? So the needle goes from left to right (it's not straight). It's a press fault - but I think it's barely notice-able in playing the music from this side (a little bit) - thank God for that. My 2nd album has a small wobble - but doesn't effect playing at all… transport damage or storage. After all I am very happy with this excellent album on vinyl !! A must-have for the collector !!

Immaculate repress, I've only compared it to Spotify and this classic is definitely worth every penny on vinyl, I listen on a quite simple turntable still breathtaking dead silent background, stunning soundscape and very deep and warm bass.

check if side D has a "side 2" label on it. mine does and i think someone else mentioned it here. might need an entry for a mislabled variant if it varies

Great record, really clear and quality sound!

Sad to say, my copy has surface noise and the occasional but repetitive click. Since I ordered from Amazon UK shipped here to the US, not worth returning.

I ordered a copy direct from FSOLDigital.com and only in the last week so way off first presses. It arrived with a separate package containing a limited numbered and signed postcard print artwork, and a small booklet entitled "Ramblings of a Madman" with notes and artwork. So impressed, wonderful extra touch. Puts them up there with Beastie Boys going the extra mile with vinyl releases both for quality of reissues and box sets, and bonus extras!

Sound quality NOT destroyed through remastering like everything else nowadays. Thanx, that's the best info you could have given us.

Beautiful packaging, nice heavyweight vinyl (totally flat too), superb sound.

Not a single tick or pop. A deep, immersive sound.

No, it's not remastered. Thank god!

Turn it up...

Could someone tell me how it compares to:

a) the original vinyl pressing from back in the day ?
b) The cd from back in the day.

Many thanks

Its clean, no noise whatsoever, so I am really pleased. Really wish it had been given the full remaster treatment, but it is what it is, and its a firm thumbs up.

After the success of prompting to Virgin/EMI/Universal the repress of Lifeforms on double vinyl, we changed the name of the group and its new mission now is to ask for reissues of all back catalogue (Virgin years from '93 to '97) in expanded/deluxe versions/formats to Universal Music Operations Ltd.
