This record is in my TOP 50 out of 10,000 units! Hauntingly melodic, cerebral recording. Classic !!!

This was voted jazz record of the year by reviewers back in 1969 but it's a bit difficult to see why now. It has all the right sentiments about breaking down boundaries between different styles of music and Gary Burton himself is bubbling over with ideas. But the group don't really gel and the leader sounds as if he resents having to leave space for the others. It ends up being pleasantly vacuous.
