A bit of a misleading title, 'Kinks In Germany. One could easily draw the conclusion that Kinks In Germany is a live album, but sadly it is not. The album was compiled and released to promote the fact that The Kinks were about to tour Germany for the first time in 1965. It was common practice in the mid sixties, as albums of The Beatles (Live In Italy) and The Who (Magic Bus - Live On Tour) prove. But, after the initial disappointment, after inspecting the tracklist the regular Kinksfan's heart could easily start beating a bit faster. Why?
It is a very nice and unusual compilation, especially for Kinks 'Kollectors' who prefer to buy the original vinyl albums. Instead of compiling a bunch of 1964-1965 hits the German record company went for a couple of non album single A and B-sides and EP tracks. This compilation can stand on it's own between 1965's Kinda Kinks and The Kink Kontrovery without any overlap with the aforementioned albums.
