Trakology:
so the CD is the only continuous mix and is about a minute longer than the 12" that cuts the track in two and misses a minute
.
the FDWulf mix is well worth a listen as seems to have gone under the radar at the time, but has lasted well
>
Mad professor only available on CD2 and goes to show how much of a dub band they always were
:)

It was 25 years ago today. Fantastic collaboration between LX/Trash, Jah Wobble and System 7. In my all time top ten, heavenly ambient/techno.

Nearly 40 minutes of blissful musical perfection cut across 2 sides of lovely, heavy, loud wax. Looking back I suppose I took for granted that artists could release bold artististic statements like ’Blue Room’ and achieve pop hit status at the same time. The popular music landscape today seems so tame. There is still an abundance of great music made, but it exists outside the mainstream. It seems impossible post X-Factor to expect a British prime time TV show to broadcast footage of 2 blokes on stage in spacesuits playing chess, whilst ambient dub music plays in the background… but that’s what happened in 1992… and nobody thought it particularly radical. They were glorious days … and this is a glorious piece of music. Buy on sight.

Is this maybe the best 12" ever? This music sets you so afloat and drifting towards the heavens in your vessel that is Jah Wobble's Dub Bass, leaving you in zero-gravity with Steve Hillage's Space Guitar Of Beyond, whilst Dr. Paterson, our brain surgeon, and the rest of the stardust crew, desert percussionists included, navigates us so close to the Aliens, and back! that we are lucky if we escape with any sanity left to ponder. Seriously: When you hear that siren call; You got to. Go.

This is the full length version effectively cut into two halves. Soft strong, and very long - and apparently worth about twenty quid...
