This came with some very real release agent debris on the vinyl but it cleans up quick and easy. It sounds AMAZING.

One of the best sounding records I own. Put on some nice headphones and listen to A Huge Evergrowing Pulsating Brain... you won't be disappointed.

So, my final review on this pressing - if you are ready to buy 5 copies of this, go for it and you will be rewarded. You may also be lucky with the very first one. But there are definitely more crappy copies than good ones. The sound is so nice that it makes me want to buy copy number 6 to get a 'perfect'-sounding set.

My new copy arrived yesterday. I was a little hesitant on picking this pressing up based on the reviews. I will say I lucked out. My copy sounds superb. Super quiet throughout. There was one loud pop at the very beginning of the fourth side. I thought "oh no...", but I also thought maybe it was just some debris from the pressing. Sure enough, I replayed it and it was gone - dead silent. My guess is that a lot of the pops people are hearing might be due to left over debris from the pressing or the paper sleeves (or possibly earlier pressings were bad?). I would recommend giving the records a clean and a few plays to see if it gets better. I've had other records get better over time. My copy looked pristine so I just used my Zero Stat for static and Sleeve City Thunderon brush for dust (I prefer the length on these to standard carbon fiber brushes). I skipped giving it a run through the Spin Clean. It sounded superb. I am so glad I picked it up. One of my all time favorite albums from this period and my favorite from The Orb. Pure genius release. So happy, and relieved, this pressing came through.

I'm disappointed by quality of pressing. The sound is superb (almost magical) but there are a lot of hard and loud crackles here and there which successfully ruin immersion due to the ambient nature of the soundscapes. I've listened to the first two sides and don't want to go any further because of this. The disc surface looks mostly clear apart from some sort of stains near the apple on both sides, and there are ton of small paper pieces from hard carton sleeve literally embossed into the disc surface. For 30 EUR pompous 180 gram reissue I've expected the higher quality but it looks like we have a long way to restore general pressings quality on scale. Anyway, what other options we have wanting this album in our collections? :-)

For a double LP with sides going from 27-30 minutes, you can't really ask for much better. Some clicks here and there, some loud, but usually not repetitive. You gotta turn up your volume more for this since it had to be cut quieter. I don't have the 4xLP, but I do have a needledrop of it, and the tracks are split up in ways I'm not very fond of, this reissue has the same layout as the original double LP.

The 4xLP probably sounds better, but with the way the tracks are split, and it's current going price, this is a very good option.

I've been searching for a clean copy of this on vinyl for years. It's pretty much the last album I needed to complete my Orb collection. I figured I would have to grab a repress when available as clean original pressings are very rare.

This pressing is outstanding! The vinyl is heavy-weight and the sound is dynamic. It's hard to find a dead silent pressing these days and ambient music such as this reveals any and all surface noise. There is hardly any surface noise in my copy, negligible for the most parts. There are a few clicks here and there. I'm extremely happy with what I got. Living stateside it was impossible to track down the Record Store Day 4 x vinyl before the prices shot up to nearly $120 plus.

I have so many repetitive giant clicks on each side. Sounds disgusting to me. I am the only one?
